We have some great generic search tools and a few engines with specific knowledge domains:

generic search from indexed, traditional content from web pages, books and other ‘published’ media (i.e. typical search using Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.)
computational  search – connect user input with some sense of context (i.e. WolframAlpha – user provide numbers and the engine [...]

I chuckled when I came across this from BlackHat 2009 Presentation discussing Cross-Site Scripting (XSS – bad/hacked site has you running ’stuff’ on another, undisclosed site) and Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF – an attack where a user is authenticated on site A and the forgery causes un-wanted actions via site B):

In case you did not notice, there are some interesting new features in Google search – the video below (from Google) provides a quick introduction.  Note the new types of relationships as well as time-sensitive options that are now possible.

If you are an IT problem solver then there is a good chance that you use one or more search engines on a daily basis.  Why go through the hassles usually encountered to resolve complex technical problems when, using a search engine you can cut the time needed to resolve the issue by reading how Joe resolved IT?  This site is one example

Things are great when they work! Some recent change (around 11/14/2008) to the Yum Extender (or a change to some underlying component) caused it to ‘break’ – since there are quite a few users of this (very nice) package problem reports surfaced quickly (probably within hours or even minutes of the problem…)
