Are you looking for monitoring resources and the latest monitoring plugins? Did you write a useful plugin/tool that you are interested in sharing? While using search engine queries can provide useful results here is a new resource that may decrease your hunt for Open Source solutions. [I am guessing that commercial solutions may eventually be represented as well...] My preference is to download resources from the source so, for me, at this time this site may simply be a starting point for locating the right solution.
MonitoringForge.org (beta) was recently launched and is attempting to provide a single resource for the best (Open Source) tools in the monitoring space. The site:
- combines tool/plugin downloads
- with news announcing the latest releases
- along with a Wiki
- and more.
Sample Project Categories and counts on 9/18/09 (links will take you to the site.) A quick look reveals a diverse membership (already) along with tools that work with Linux, Unix, Windows as well as vendor specific solutions.
You will need to create an account to access the resources. A few resources are listed below (many of which I have previously used or reviewed.) It’s nice to see a resource where so many tools can be located – I may be checking out some previously unknown solutions (as time permits.) Monitoring tool/resource Sample list found on this site:
