Wolfram Alpha – sort of live…

By Dale Reagan | May 18, 2009

I happened to notice that the Wolfram Alpha team was continuing with live beta – the first few queries were quickly returned.  Then I got:

Looks like they are getting plenty of beta-time.

Update – according to the blog post Wolfram Alpha went ‘live’ at 16:15 today (5/18/09). BTW – the quote, “I’m sorry Dave, I’m afraid I can’t do that…” is a quote from Hal, the computer in the 1969 movie, “2001: A Space Odyssey”. Note that if you search for the quote then Wolfram Alpha does not know what ‘to do with it’ – try Google and you get the movie…

    Search: movie “I’m sorry Dave”

Some interesting things to try – search for using two or three city names (anywhere in the world – I’m guessing small cities or larger should work well.)
