« | Main | » – new search engine

You may have noted the   ‘Twiceler bot’ in your web logs.  It’s a new (launched for public access) today.

“Cuil is an old Irish word for knowledge. For knowledge, ask Cuil.”

World’s biggest search engine? (so they say…)

First impressions (based on very limited testing over ~20 minutes; also your milage should vary…):

      3. What information do you keep about me?

None. We analyze the Web, not our users. Read our Privacy Policy for details. It’s short.

Sample error message (after clicking on a results Tab or the ‘next’ arrow:

We didn’t find any results for “classical guitar”

        Some reasons might be…

  • a typo. Please check your spelling.
  • your search includes a term that is very rare. Try to find a more common substitute.
  • too many search terms. Please try fewer terms.

Finally, try to think of different words to describe your search.

And when I selected tried:  About->>Features I get:

Oops! We couldn’t find that page.

Please verify that the URL is correct and try again.

Hmm, the site seems to pull text from one source and images from a second – could be part of the slowness I am seeing.  The performance issues could also be the results of first day pounding.  The simply erros I encountered are simply not good – not ready for prime time?  I’ll try again in a few weeks.
